Even though every day should be — and is — a fight for equality, today we recognize the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia.
At a time when institutions and governments continue amplifying attacks on civil rights and increasing efforts to dismantle protections for LGBTQ+ communities and people of color, we must strengthen our efforts to push back against hate and discrimination.
Ending homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia requires more than words. It takes allyship, education, advocacy, and systemic change. That means calling out discrimination and bullying, educating ourselves and others on LGBTQIA+ issues, supporting inclusive policies, and fighting for legal protections for all people.
When we stand together, support one another, and help educate those who “just don’t understand,” we create real change — even in the midst of efforts designed to silence or divide us.
Today, and every day, take pride in being visible, vocal, and engaged. And remember: no matter how they try to manipulate systems or suppress voices, our collective power remains strongest when we show up and vote in every election.
